📝 WalkthroughSummary by CodeRabbit
WalkthroughCSS animation callbacks now support deferred subscriber retirement. Cleanup retires managers without losing the current event batch. Registry tests cover delivery, later removal, and re-registration. ChangesCSS callback retirement
Estimated code review effort: 3 (Moderate) | ~25 minutes Mergeability Score: 🔵 Low · up to The unmount delivery change may deliver one animation event twice when a subscriber re-registers during dispatch. The PR is otherwise mergeable with explicit owner awareness and follow-up for this bounded callback-correctness risk. Sequence Diagram(s)sequenceDiagram

Makes `onAnimationStart`, `onAnimationEnd`, `onAnimationIteration` and `onAnimationCancel` fire on iOS and Android. They already work on web, and the shared types promised them everywhere, but native dropped them. Callbacks are passed inside `style`, alongside the other CSS config props. Only the subscription mask crosses the JSI boundary, never the user function, and it is pushed to C++ only when the set of present callbacks changes. A cancel emitted while the view is unmounting is still dropped here; #10255 delivers it.
The engine emits an animation cancel as the view tears down, but the batch carrying it is dispatched once the view is already gone, so unregistering at unmount dropped it. Keep the subscriber registered and queue it for removal after the next batch instead.
Queueing the removal instead of unregistering eagerly meant a frozen view that mounted again on the same manager was dropped by the queue on the next batch, and its callbacks went silent. Retire unsubscribes right away and the batch reads both sets, so registering again is enough to stay subscribed.
Follows the sentinel removal in the base branch.

Registering again now cancels a pending retirement, so a remounted view is only ever in one of the two sets. The batch no longer has to union them to avoid delivering an event twice.
Trailing underscores are an outlier in this package, and the batch helper did not say what it delivers or to whom. The two tag maps are also filled the same way, so that goes through one function.

Adds a screen under CSS > Animations > Miscellaneous that attaches all four animation callbacks and logs each event with its `elapsedTime`, so the timings can be checked against the spec. Covers the cases that are easy to get wrong: a finite animation with a delay, an infinite one that never ends, and interrupting one mid-flight. The unmount button stays silent until #10255 lands, which is what makes that cancel reach the callback. Stacked on #10071.
A callback in the batch can register a retiring view, which puts it in the subscribed set while the retirement snapshot still holds it, and it heard the event twice.
The field and retire docs both explained why an unmounting view keeps receiving.
Notifying the subscribed and the retiring separately meant passing the first into the second so nobody heard the event twice. One set dedupes itself.
The batch helper and its callers had drifted into listeners, and the two collection helpers now read as what they do to a subscriber. The two-set model is stated once on the class instead of across three comments.

The engine emits an animation cancel as the view tears down, but the batch carrying it is dispatched once the view is already gone, so unregistering the subscriber at unmount dropped it and the callback never fired.
Unmounting now retires the subscriber: it is unsubscribed straight away and kept aside, and the next batch is delivered to both the subscribed and the retired sets before the retired ones are let go. Unsubscribing eagerly rather than queueing the removal is what lets a frozen view that mounts again on the same manager stay subscribed by simply registering itself.
This matches the web, where removing an element with a running animation fires
animationcancel.
