📝 WalkthroughSummary by CodeRabbit
WalkthroughThe CSS event system now supports transition callback masks and separate animation and transition callback routing. ChangesCSS callback event masks
Estimated code review effort: 4 (Complex) | ~45 minutes Mergeability Score: 🔵 Low · up to The PR adds native CSS transition callbacks, but callback removal during animation cancellation is not fully protected by tests, leaving a bounded risk of synchronization regressions. The change is mergeable with explicit owner awareness or follow-up coverage. Sequence Diagram(s)sequenceDiagram

separate regression test covering callback removal: register an
onAnimationCancel callback, update the manager with a subsequent animation
configuration that omits that callback, dispatch the cancellation event using
the previous native mask, and assert the removed callback is not invoked. Use
CSSManager’s callback synchronization and current registry behavior rather than
altering the transition test.

Mirrors of the animation cases dropped upstream: the empty starting mask, the tag routing already covered in the registry, the unregister spy, and the batch bound after an unmount.
One generic store parameterized by four injected functions was harder to follow than the two it stood in for, and its event table had to be widened to a partial record to be indexable. A store per kind names its own table, builds its own payload, and narrows the event type with a predicate.

The manager tried the animation store and fell back to the transition one, so both it and each store decided which kind an event was. The guards now narrow the event itself, which lets a store take only what it owns.
Makes
onTransitionRun,onTransitionStart,onTransitionEndandonTransitionCancelfire on iOS and Android. They already work on web, and the shared types promised them everywhere, but native dropped them. The per-view callbacks manager now holds one callback store per CSS kind. Each store names its own prop table, keeps its own mask, builds its own payload shape and narrows the event type with its own predicate, so an event is routed by exactly one lookup and neither kind can read the other table. Only the masks cross the JSI boundary, never the user functions, and the transition mask is diffed so an unchanged set of callbacks costs no native call.
Callbacks are passed inside
style, alongside the other CSS config props.Stacked on #10119.
