Part of #2

Dependency: #3 on feat/map-grok-effort-catalog.

Outcome

The coordinator is three packages a stranger can install separately: a core library (client, harvest, CLI), an OpenClaw plugin (gateway tools and skill), and an MCP server (stdio). The core library does not depend on OpenClaw or on MCP. Operator config is the same on each surface: inline JSON, a config file path, or client parameters.

Changes

Sources move under package directories. The repository root becomes a private workspace. Harvest registration stays in the plugin. The MCP server is its own binary.

Acceptance

git checkout feat/split-core-plugin-mcp
npm install
npm test
npm run build

Expect 16 files and 52 tests, and a successful workspace build. The MCP package exports its request handler and server start. After this capsule, a gateway loads the plugin package, not the repository root.

Boundaries

  • Does not change Cloud request behavior beyond the mapping capsule.
  • Does not publish to a package registry.
  • Does not rewrite an existing gateway config. The operator points the plugin load path at the plugin package.

Rollback

Revert this pull request. Local install and build outputs are artifacts. A gateway still loading the repository root will miss the plugin manifest until the operator updates that path or this pull request is reverted.

Core owns the Cloud client and CLI. The OpenClaw plugin and the MCP
stdio server depend on it, so the same tools can ship without sharing
a host runtime.

Input branches, the tool schema, and the models payload were a second copy
of the spellings. The table now maps a spelling to a level and supplies
the preferred catalog value.

The mapping branch and the split each carried the same table. Joining them
keeps the package review on one line.
