storage(#7809): key transcript reads by the request's tenant and move remaining readers onto the session store - #7859
Conversation
Update the vendored tinyagents submodule to the latest upstream commit. Auto-committed-on: dragonfly
transcripts_or_files now falls back to a new workspace_transcripts helper that opens TinyAgents' WorkspaceStores over the workspace directory, importing classic session_raw jsonl files once and read-only. A workspace whose store cannot be opened degrades to an in-memory locator for the process instead of failing the turn. Auto-committed-on: dragonfly
…rkspace Update the transcript destination tests to assert that without a store, transcripts resolve to the workspace store rather than the legacy session_raw file layout, and that the same workspace and agent resolve consistently. Add a test verifying that an unopenable workspace degrades to a session that is not kept. Auto-committed-on: dragonfly
The head transcript lookup now resolves the thread's transcript via the session store locator instead of constructing a file-backed locator and resolving paths directly. This keeps transcript reads consistent with the store the session host writes to. Auto-committed-on: dragonfly
The transcript resolution helpers now take the store key as a parameter instead of resolving it internally, so callers control which session store is consulted. This lets edit operations target the same store the session host writes to without re-deriving it at each call site. Auto-committed-on: dragonfly
The edit and regenerate paths truncated transcripts without the store key the session host uses, so they could miss the stored session. The key is now resolved on the async side and threaded into the blocking truncation calls, since the blocking pool drops the task's context. Auto-committed-on: dragonfly
The transcript edit helpers now take a store key, so the tests thread a shared STORE_KEY constant through every call. The truncate test also asserts the sealed generation stays readable through the store port with the dropped turn intact, covering the case where the model only sees the new head. Auto-committed-on: dragonfly
The transcript store key now comes from the configured chat agent id instead of resolving an ambient tenant key, since those context accessors are being removed. The key is passed down explicitly to the helpers that need it. Auto-committed-on: dragonfly
Workspace transcript lookups now reuse a single open WorkspaceStores per workspace and agent instead of reopening the backend on every call, and release_workspace_defaults drops those cached stores so a data reset still starts clean. Auto-committed-on: dragonfly
The test now writes a turn through one locator handle and asserts the session is visible through a subsequent lookup, confirming both resolve to the same durable workspace store rather than only comparing destination keys. Auto-committed-on: dragonfly
Cover the session store's save and load paths to guard against regressions in persistence behaviour. Auto-committed-on: dragonfly
The session store module is no longer referenced anywhere in the codebase, so it has been deleted to reduce dead code. Auto-committed-on: dragonfly
Moved shared thread operation helpers into a dedicated support module so the individual ops files can reuse them without duplication. No behaviour change. Auto-committed-on: dragonfly
Reworked the thread edit operation to make the update flow clearer and easier to follow. Behaviour is unchanged. Auto-committed-on: dragonfly
Add tests for the thread edit operations to verify the expected behaviour of edits applied to thread state. Auto-committed-on: dragonfly

Adds a module that delivers scheduled agent output back to the origin that created the job, so results reach the conversation or channel that requested them instead of being dropped. Auto-committed-on: dragonfly
Adds tests covering origin delivery in the cron scheduler and bumps the vendored tinyagents dependency. Auto-committed-on: dragonfly
Add tests covering origin delivery behaviour in the cron scheduler so that message routing back to the originating channel is verified. The tinyagents vendor submodule is updated alongside. Auto-committed-on: dragonfly
Add tests for the session module covering edge cases that were previously unverified. This improves confidence in session handling behaviour. Auto-committed-on: dragonfly

Vendors the tinyagents package so the project can rely on it without fetching it at build time. Auto-committed-on: dragonfly
Auto-committed-on: dragonfly
Introduce a runtime session turn path in the session host and thread the run context through tinyagents so turns can execute against a live runtime session. This lets the host drive turns directly instead of relying on the previous static context wiring. Auto-committed-on: dragonfly
Adds graph dispatch and transcript operations to the subagent host so subagent runs can be driven through the graph execution path and their transcripts captured. The vendored tinyagents dependency is updated to support the new operations. Auto-committed-on: dragonfly
Moved the subagent graph dispatch logic into a dedicated module to keep the host operations organized and make the dispatch path easier to locate. No behaviour change. Auto-committed-on: dragonfly
Auto-committed-on: dragonfly
Adds unit tests for the subagent host graph operations, exercising the failed-run handling and the run path so regressions in those branches are caught. Auto-committed-on: dragonfly

164-195: 🚀 Performance & Scalability | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick winThe workspace store open runs while the global cache mutex is held.
workspace_transcriptsholds theOPEN_WORKSPACE_STORESlock while it callsWorkspaceStores::open. That call opens SQLite and runs the one-time JSONL import. A first lookup for any workspace/agent pair therefore blocks every other transcript lookup in the process for the length of that import. With many profiles in SaaS, each new key adds the same pause. An open that fails is also not cached. Every lookup for that key retries the open while it holds the lock, and each lookup returns a new in-memory locator. Writes from one lookup are then not visible to the next lookup.
Open the store outside the lock. After the open, insert the store with
entry().or_insert, or put a per-key once cell in the map.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

Resolve each thread's persisted agent key
When a desktop/CLI conversation was written under an agent other than the current chat_agent_id—including a supported chat_agent_id flip on an existing thread or a workflow_builder thread—the session host keyed the transcript with that writer's agent id, while this always derives the reader/edit key from today's chat setting. Because provider and workspace stores partition by that key, transcript_get and token_usage report no data and edit/regenerate cannot find the prior turns even though the thread still exists. Resolve the agent key from the thread/session identity (or persist it with the thread) rather than from current config.

Valid, not fixed in this PR. Before this change the readers (transcript_get, token_usage, edit) scanned the shared session_raw files across all writer agents; they now use the store keyed like the session host's writer (definition id). A chat_agent_id flip on an existing thread therefore loses the prior turns for readers. A correct fix needs the writer agent persisted with the thread (or a tinyagents agent-agnostic thread lookup), which is a schema/contract change; tracked as a follow-up on #7809.

Summary
Moves the host's remaining transcript readers and writers off the path-taking transcript API and onto the session store port, with the store key passed in explicitly from the caller that already knows the request's tenant. Pins
vendor/tinyagentsto tinyhumansai/tinyagents#463, which adds the locator-based APIs this needs.threads::ops::support::transcript_store(ctx)resolves the key from the RPC handler's ownDispatchCtx:<profile>~<agent>for a SaaS profile, else the context's agent, else the configured chat agent. Nothing ambient is read.session_store::agent_key_for(tenant, fallback)is the shared rule, andcurrent_agent_key_or(what the session host writes under) now delegates to it. Before this, edit derived the key from config alone and dropped the profile prefix.threads.transcript_getandthreads.token_usagenow read through the same store (view::get_page_in,spend::thread_spend_in) instead ofsession_raw/*.jsonl.agent/context_breakdownpasses itsctxthrough.append_background_message_in. Any other test that invalidated the shared operator cache scope while this slow fetch was in flight fenced the result toUnavailable. The test now retries a fenced fetch.
