WalkthroughThe change adds current platform-value retrieval for active CSS transitions. Platform-to-loop migration uses a live scalar value when available. Transition property filtering and registry reconciliation now use loop-routed properties. Android alpha writes preserve React Native opacity handling for React view groups. ChangesPlatform transition migration
Estimated code review effort: 3 (Moderate) | ~25 minutes Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to The PR fixes stale CSS transition routing and mid-flight demotion behavior, but an unresolved color edge case can still cause an unintended transparent-to-opaque transition for affected styles. The change is mergeable with explicit owner awareness and follow-up on that bounded visual-correctness risk. Sequence Diagram(s)sequenceDiagram

When a property moves between the C++ loop and the platform path, two things went stale.
The updates registry kept the property's last settled value after it moved to the platform, so the commit hook re-injected it over the committed style and the view snapped back. Retention now covers loop-routed properties only, and runs on every transition run so a promotion evicts what it leaves behind.
A mid-flight demotion restarted the loop from the old committed value, flashing before gliding to the new one. The backend now reports the value its animation currently shows, and the demoted transition resumes from there.
Both were reproduced on a physical device and re-verified after the fix. Behavior with
ANDROID_CSS_PLATFORM_TRANSITIONSoff is unchanged.
