The real-model cancellation check could finish without starting work because the model interpreted its unbounded foreground loop as an unexplained denial-of-service request. The shared acceptance prompt now explains that this is an authorized sandbox test: an external runner observes three writes, requests cancellation, and cleans up.
The shell command, foreground/exactly-once instruction, wait budgets, observed-effects gate, cancelled status and three-second stability assertions are unchanged. The failed refusal remains recorded and is not classified as a cancellation pass.
Validation: all six acceptance input tests; AST comparison confirms the instruction prefix is the only semantic change;
git diff --check. This is a fixture-only change and does not require native artifacts to be rebuilt. The affected Claude lifecycle is being rerun against the same deployed binaries.Need help on this PR? Tag
