Amethyst is a fast, ultra-efficient, and minimalist web browser focused on privacy and high performance. Built with C# and the reliable Microsoft Edge WebView2 engine, it is completely stripped of telemetry and optimized to run without putting unnecessary load on your system.
b1.3 (Beta)
- Ultra-lightweight & Low Resource Consumption: Highly optimized to use minimal RAM and CPU, delivering exceptional performance. As an example, the browser consumes only around 20MB of RAM with a single open tab.
- Uncompromised Privacy & Security: A completely telemetry-free experience. Includes built-in anti-fingerprinting and WebRTC IP leak blocking to respect your data and provide secure, anonymous surfing.
- "Potato Mode": A special performance mode designed for extremely weak hardware. It disables unnecessary visual effects to save every possible megabyte of RAM.
- Native WinForms UI: Utilizing native Windows components makes the minimal, distraction-free interface incredibly fast and responsive, avoiding the bloat of heavy modern UI frameworks.
- Versatile Search Options: Comes with a wide choice of built-in search engines, ranging from mainstream services to highly private ones.
- Extension Support: Ability to install browser add-ons (currently in beta testing).
Note: As this is a beta version, more improvements are planned for the future, including a planned fork for Linux distributions.
