[Bug] PowerShell 7 fails to create a project when using the command vp create vite -- --template react-ts #3080
in Windows 11 with PowerShell 7.6.6, vp fails with:
VITE+ - The Unified Toolchain for the Web
error: unexpected argument '--template' found
tip: to pass '--template' as a value, use '-- --template'
Usage: vp create [TEMPLATE] [OPTIONS] [-- TEMPLATE_OPTIONS]
For more information, try '--help'.
Expected: --template react-ts should be forwarded to the vite template.
Actual: vp treats --template as its own argument and errors out.
The same command works in bash and cmd. It only fails in PowerShell 7.
Reproduction
No standalone reproduction repository; the minimal reproduction is the command-line steps below.
Steps to reproduce
Open PowerShell 7.6.6 on Windows 11.
Run:
vp create vite ----template react-ts
Observe the error:
VITE+ - The Unified Toolchain for the Web
error: unexpected argument '--template' found
tip: to pass '--template' as a value, use '-- --template'
Usage: vp create [TEMPLATE] [OPTIONS] [-- TEMPLATE_OPTIONS]
For more information, try '--help'.

3. Could you try vp create vite '--' --template react-ts?
Thanks, that works now! I appreciate it.
Some additional information: vp create vite -- --template react-ts is the example shown in vp create -h, so I copied and pasted it directly. It was a bit confusing that it failed in PowerShell 7, since that looks like the intended usage.
