Building software.
Exploring AI.
Learning by shipping.
Hey! I'm Umang, a developer and student from Nepal who loves building things and figuring out how they work.
I'm particularly interested in Artificial Intelligence, local LLMs, full-stack development, developer tools, automation, and productivity software.
I learn mostly by building.
Instead of spending months learning something before using it, I usually have a slightly questionable idea, start building it, break everything, read documentation, fix it, and learn along the way.

I'm also involved in my college's Science & IT Club, where I get to work with other students around technology, programming, and technical activities.
I'm especially interested in the engineering side of AI:

├── Semantic Search

├── Memory Systems
├── NLP
├── Natural Language Interfaces
└── AI Automation
I don't just want to use AI APIs.
I want to understand how AI systems can be connected to real software and actually perform useful tasks.
My current stack:
Languages
├── Python
├── JavaScript
└── TypeScript
Backend
├── FastAPI
├── REST APIs
└── SQLite

├── Local LLMs
├── RAG
├── Embeddings
└── Vector Search
Tools

└── VS Code
I'm comfortable working across the stack — from frontend interfaces to backend APIs, databases, and AI systems.
My main project right now.
MINDBASE is an AI-powered personal workspace designed to bring conversations, documents, notes, email, memory, research, and tasks into one intelligent interface.
Instead of jumping between different productivity tools, you can simply talk to MINDBASE.

You can ask:
"Summarize my latest emails."
"What tasks are due tomorrow?"
"Find my notes about FastAPI."
"Summarize this PDF."
"Remember this for later."
"Research local LLMs."
The goal is to make AI feel less like a chatbot and more like an intelligent layer over your personal workspace.
MINDBASE also focuses heavily on local-first AI, using technologies such as Ollama to run models locally.
A desktop multilingual AI voice assistant exploring voice interaction, natural-language commands, and AI-powered automation.
A small productivity application focused on tracking fitness consistency and progress.
A real-world web project built for a local sports business.
Linux is a big part of my development environment.
I enjoy being able to control and understand what is happening underneath the interface.

I learn best by building things that are slightly above my current skill level.
Coder's Hub is a Discord community where developers can learn, build, share projects, and collaborate.
If you're into programming, AI, Linux, or just building random things at unreasonable hours:
> I like building more than talking about building.
> I learn by making things.
> Linux is my playground.
> AI is probably going to consume most of my free time.
> Most of my projects start with:
"Wait... can I actually build this?"
> Sometimes the answer is no.
> I build it anyway.
Right now, I'm focused on three things:
LEARN

BUILD

SHIP

REPEAT
I'm still figuring out exactly where this journey goes.
For now, I'm going to keep learning, keep building, and keep shipping.
Thanks for visiting my profile.
Still learning. Still building. Still breaking things. 🚀
