Tiny Sweeper reviewVerdict: Incomplete · Priority: none Diagnostics and supporting detailsFull summaryPull request purpose (title): feat(crypto): add host-attested device pairing lifecycle (contract 1.25). Pull request purpose: feat(crypto): add host-attested device pairing lifecycle (contract 1.25). The change implements TinySecurity contract 1.25 device pairing and session renewal on top of the existing DeviceFrame2 transport. The module owns per-scope pairing records, proof-gated enrollment and renewal, authenticated recovery, legacy per-channel identity import and paired-tunnel lifecycle; host callbacks supply authenticated contexts and ciphertext-only CAS persistence, while private keys and snapshots stay inside the module. The contract bump to 1.25, wire types, callback vocabulary, crypto owner, module adapter, native mode-18 fixture and spec/plan/docs are part of the same change. No lane reported a confirmed defect, and this summary claims no test execution. Unreviewed paths

…efresh failure Unlock now checks the context generation and expiry before loading a scope, and a failed session refresh retires the session and its paired tunnel instead of leaving stale state behind. State decoding was also split so the decrypt step can be injected for testing. Auto-committed-on: cuttlefish Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>
…ling Removed the redundant unlock context validation from the scope loading path and collapsed the session refresh error branch into a single map_err, since the retire-on-failure logic is now handled elsewhere. This trims duplicated cleanup code without changing the pairing behaviour. Auto-committed-on: cuttlefish Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>
Session refresh errors are now routed through a helper that retires the paired tunnel instead of only mapping the error to a denial, so a failed refresh no longer leaves a stale tunnel active. Decryption failures during state loading are also normalized to the same denied error, and tests cover agent-context unlocks, plaintext snapshots, and refresh failure cleanup. Auto-committed-on: cuttlefish Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>
Add a test asserting that a retained pairing-state cipher refuses to decrypt plaintext input, guarding the invariant that persisted state stays encrypted. Auto-committed-on: cuttlefish Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>
The decrypt path now denies any input that does not start with the enc2 marker before handing it to the secret cipher, so stale or malformed ciphertext is refused early instead of being processed. Auto-committed-on: cuttlefish Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>
…fresh failure Unlock context validation now also requires the authenticated user controller source, and decoded state must carry the enc2 prefix. Failed refreshes retire the session and paired tunnel instead of silently returning an error, and scope loading validates the unlock context before touching stored scopes. Auto-committed-on: cuttlefish Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>
Reformatted two assertion expressions in the device pairing tests so they match rustfmt's expected layout. No test behaviour changed. Auto-committed-on: cuttlefish Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>
Reworked the refresh completion path to use an if-let instead of a match, which reads more directly without changing behaviour. Added a test covering clock rollback to confirm that every tunnel in the scope is retired, along with a second registered frame to exercise the multi-tunnel case. Auto-committed-on: cuttlefish Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>
The clock rollback test now converts the refresh result with map_err before passing it to finish_refresh, so the assertion exercises the intended error path instead of relying on the raw result type. Auto-committed-on: cuttlefish Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>
Wrap the finish_refresh assertion in the clock rollback test across multiple lines so it matches the project's formatting style. No behaviour change. Auto-committed-on: cuttlefish Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>
Expose whether a device pairing owner has been permanently closed after an authority fault, so callers can check the faulted state without attempting a mutation. Auto-committed-on: cuttlefish Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>
When a refresh fails and the pairing owner is in a faulted state, the whole paired scope is now retired instead of just the individual session and tunnel, since a faulted owner can no longer be trusted to manage its remaining sessions. Auto-committed-on: cuttlefish Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>
The pairing tests now supply the scope identifier to finish_refresh, matching the updated signature. This keeps the failure and clock rollback cases compiling against the new argument. Auto-committed-on: cuttlefish Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>
The existing-scope fast path now runs its lookup through a helper that re-validates the unlock context after the lookup completes, so an agent context can no longer reach the loaded-scope cache before being denied. The test was updated to assert the lookup never runs for a rejected context. Auto-committed-on: cuttlefish Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>
The unlock scope lookup now runs the caller's closure only after the unlock context has been validated, instead of performing the lookup first and discarding the result on failure. This avoids unnecessary work when validation rejects the request. Auto-committed-on: cuttlefish Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>

Adds a decrypt_legacy path on the device pairing cipher so historical enc: values can be read during migration, with the caller expected to re-encrypt immediately. The pairing adapter now dispatches on the stored format and advances the CAS revision as soon as the durable merge commits, so recovery failures no longer leave the token stale. Auto-committed-on: cuttlefish Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>
Reformatted the decrypt_legacy_enc call and the corresponding test assertion to satisfy rustfmt line width limits. No behaviour change. Auto-committed-on: cuttlefish Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>
The legacy plaintext fixture in the pairing state cipher test now builds its hex string with a fold and write! instead of mapping and collecting, avoiding an intermediate allocation per byte. The assertion behaviour is unchanged. Auto-committed-on: cuttlefish Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>
Replace the write!-based hex encoding with a lookup table and flat_map so the test no longer needs the std::fmt::Write import. The encoded output is unchanged. Auto-committed-on: cuttlefish Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>

retire_paired_tunnel previously removed any handle it was given, so retiring a paired tunnel could evict an unrelated device handle. It now checks that the entry is a paired tunnel before removing it, and a test covers the ordinary-handle case. Auto-committed-on: cuttlefish Co-authored-by: Medulla <medulla@tinyhumans.ai>
Implements TinySecurity contract 1.25 device pairing and session renewal for OpenHuman's DeviceFrame2 transport. The module owns per-scope pairing records, authenticated recovery, legacy per-channel identity import, and paired-tunnel lifecycle; host callbacks supply authenticated contexts and CAS persistence, while private keys and snapshots stay inside the module. Legacy import preserves each channel's original core identity and is all-or-nothing. Recovery merges the latest durable CAS snapshot before returning current channel metadata; tombstones continue to deny revoked imports.
The native module fixture exercises old channel-key Handshake and Renew, reinitialization-stable identity, and the lost-confirm path through Lock, Unlock, Recover, and Revoke. It also pins revoke/tombstone denial after reload and the deterministic reinitialization/Lock/Confirm races, plus negative scope, source, registration, backend, agent, expiry, corrupt-state, revoked-metadata, stale-generation, and replay cases. A denied legacy-import preflight leaves the loaded owner usable; after an import mutates state, snapshot generation and CAS persistence remain fenced so errors or cancellation fault and retire the scope. Lost-confirm recovery now uses the still-authorized replacement channel instead of the earlier revoked channel.
The required TinySecurity dependencies are available on
main(#35 and #36 are merged). Host integration remains separately tracked by tinyhumansai/openhuman#7328 and is not claimed complete by this module PR.Fresh local validation on head
