Klagge Law, PLLC — Trusts & Estates, Business & Tax Structuring

Kevin D. Klagge, Esq. (Fla. Bar No. 99502) practices estate planning, probate, probate & trust litigation, elder law and Medicaid planning, and business and tax structuring at Klagge Law, PLLC in Miami, and is a partner at Assouline & Berlowe, P.A.

This account hosts open tools built out of the practice, starting with statute-grounded calculators, published so the math behind a legal estimate is checkable instead of a black box. Generally interested in where legal AI and legal-tech tooling are heading, and in how much of routine legal reasoning can be made transparent, versioned, and testable rather than opaque.

  • roth-conversion-toolkit — 2026 Roth conversion calculator that models what brokerage tools skip: the Social Security tax torpedo (IRC §86), the senior-deduction clawback (2025–2028), and Medicare IRMAA cliffs two years out. Every figure primary-source verified and dated. Zero dependencies, MIT, TypeScript.
  • elder-fraud-toolkit — Credit-freeze letter generator (self-service or POA/guardian/conservator route, 15 U.S.C. §1681c-1) for all three bureaus, plus one-tap fraud-prevention hotlines, vCard and QR codes. Runs entirely in the browser — nothing is ever transmitted. MIT licensed, TypeScript. Listed in awesome-legaltech under Access to Justice.
  • state-estate-tax-dataset — Open dataset covering all 50 states and DC: 2026 estate and inheritance tax exemptions, full rate schedules, and the statutory citation for each. The 34 jurisdictions that levy nothing are recorded explicitly rather than omitted, because a missing row is ambiguous. Includes the traps that break naive calculations — the New York cliff, Oregon taxing the whole estate, Washington splitting 2026 into two rate schedules, Virginia's surviving postponed inheritance tax. Figures read from each state's revenue department or statute rather than from aggregators, with a verification harness that recomputes every bracket state against an independent implementation.
