Resolves a part of #11352.

Description

What is the purpose of this pull request?

This pull request:

Specifically, in test/test.js:

  • replaces the abs and @stdlib/constants/float64/eps requires with a single isAlmostSameValue require.
  • collapses the if ( actual === expected ) { ... } else { delta/tol ... } branch in the incremental harmonic mean test into a single t.strictEqual( isAlmostSameValue( actual, expected, 1 ), true, 'returns expected value' ); assertion.
  • removes the now unused delta and tol variable declarations.

The package has a single test file (test/test.js); there is no test/test.native.js. The final assertion in the suite (t.equal( acc(), 1.6363636363636365, ... )) is an exact comparison against an exactly representable return value and is intentionally left unchanged.

ULP bound: 1 ULP.

This was tightened to the measured minimum. Over the full fixture set ([ 2.0, 3.0, NaN, 2.0, 4.0, NaN, 3.0, 4.0 ]), seven of the eight accumulator returns are bit-for-bit identical to the expected values (0 ULP) and the final return differs by exactly 1 ULP (2.769230769230769 vs. 2.7692307692307696). Accordingly, 0 fails and 1 passes, so 1 is the tightest admissible bound. The suite was run twice at the final bound to confirm determinism (13 passing, 0 failing in both runs).

Any questions for reviewers of this pull request?

No.

Other

Any other information relevant to this pull request? This may include screenshots, references, and/or implementation notes.

  • make test TESTS_FILTER=".*/stats/incr/nanhmean/.*" passes (13 passing).
  • make lint-javascript-tests TESTS_FILTER=".*/stats/incr/nanhmean/.*" is clean.
  • make lint-editorconfig-files could not be run in this environment, as the editorconfig-checker binary could not be downloaded. EditorConfig conformance was instead verified manually: the diff touches only tab-indented lines, introduces no trailing whitespace, and the file retains its final newline.
  • The only file changed is lib/node_modules/@stdlib/stats/incr/nanhmean/test/test.js.

Disclosure

If you answered "yes" to using AI assistance, please provide a short disclosure indicating how you used AI assistance. This helps reviewers determine how much scrutiny to apply when reviewing your contribution. Example disclosures: "This PR was written primarily by Claude Code." or "I consulted ChatGPT to understand the codebase, but the proposed changes were fully authored manually by myself.".

This PR was authored by Claude Code running as an unattended scheduled task. Claude Code surveyed already-merged conversions in this family (e.g. stats/incr/mhmean, stats/incr/nanmhmean) to mirror the established idiom, applied the mechanical substitution to test/test.js, measured the per-assertion ULP distances to determine the minimum bound, and verified the result by running the package test suite and the JavaScript test linter.
