What

Dropping 6.x (v6.12 – v6.7) from the docs version dropdown. Latest (v8.0) and all the 7.x entries stays on the drop-down versions list.

Why

Sourcegraph only supports the latest major plus one back (N-1). Now that 8.0 version is out, that makes 8.x and 7.x so 6.x versions should not be showing up as a current option anymore. Same thing we did with 5.x last time around.

Not touching

  • legacy.mdx - the 6.x links stay there, just like 5.x still does.
  • The old 6.x subdomains (6.7.sourcegraph.com etc.) keep working fine on their own.

Heads up

Merging this doesn't make it live right away, the dropdown pulls from whatever's deployed on main (with a 5 min cache), so give it a few minutes after deploy.

Tested locally, dropdown looks right, just latest 8.0 + 7.x.
