Horizon

Horizon is a night drive. The speed sits large in the sky, and the car's data shows up in the road scene around it:

  • Speed turns amber more than 2 over fusedSpeedLimit. The lane markings flow toward you at the car's speed: a nested Road timeline plays through a NestedSimpleAnimation whose speed is bound to egoSpeed, so no scripting is needed.
  • Steering tilts the horizon slightly, like an attitude indicator.
  • Power and regen fill the horizon line, warm to the right for power and green to the left for regen.
  • Blinkers light the green chevrons, the lane line on that side and the tail light on that side.
  • Blind spots show a car in the adjacent lane, amber or red when urgent, plus an edge glow. They appear with the blinker on that side, or always with alwaysOnBlindSpotMonitor.
  • Traffic light tints the sky, and the stop line is drawn in perspective at stopLineDist.
  • Assist puts a blue carpet in your lane (orange in experimental mode) and shows the SET speed pill.
  • Status: gear, speed-limit sign (EU round / US rectangle), battery, door and seatbelt chips, speed camera, odometer, clock and phone battery. Metric/imperial and the show* settings are respected.

Built on DashViewModel (viewmodel.rml is unchanged from rive/dash-demo/) and laid out with layouts from 1440 to 2340 units wide. The source is in src/: gen.py writes the RML, and rive . --once rebuilds the .riv. The only asset is the Inter font (OFL 1.1, the same files the dash-demo ships). All the art is my own vector work in Rive markup.

Screen recording: coming soon, recorded in DashPilot with the Demo data source.

Rive dashboard: a night-drive road scene. Lane markings flow at the
car's speed (NestedSimpleAnimation speed bound to egoSpeed), the
horizon tilts with steering and doubles as the power/regen meter,
blinkers light the lane line and tail light, blind-spot cars appear in
the adjacent lane, and traffic lights tint the sky.
