BootLogoManager is a portable, free utility for customizing the boot logo (screen) of your PC.
This program will modify BIOS settings, use at your own risk. The copyright of the code and binary files used belongs to the original manufacturer.
Only computers with new BIOS are supported. The app detects your PC manufacturer and picks the right method automatically:
- Lenovo (tested on Legion, Yoga, Thinkbook, Ideapad, etc.) — uses Lenovo's own "DIY Logo" firmware interface.
- HP (business notebooks/desktops such as EliteBook, ProBook, ZBook, EliteDesk) — uses HP's official HP Client Management Script Library (HPCMSL), specifically the
Set-HPFirmwareBootLogo/Clear-HPFirmwareBootLogocmdlets. HPCMSL must be installed separately before running this app:(run from an elevated PowerShell prompt). HP firmware accepts only JPEG up to 1024x768 and ~32KB, so the selected image is converted to JPEG and compressed automatically. If a BIOS setup password is set, the app asks for it before changing the logo.Install-Module -Name HPCMSL -Force -AcceptLicense
Other manufacturers are not supported yet.
To use:
- Download the latest version from releases
- There is no installation required, just start executable file from anywhere on your computer and have fun!
- On HP devices, make sure HPCMSL is installed first (see above).
The recommended way to get the program is BUILD from source
- Install git, Visual Studio (2022 or higher)
- build
This may happen when using .jpg format files saved with Photoshop. You can save the image as .bmp format, or save it to .jpg format with other software (e.g. PaintDotNet or msPaint).
