What

  • Monthly schedule + rebase-strategy: disabled → no weekly PR/rebase churn.
  • Explicit open-pull-requests-limit: 5 on every ecosystem.
  • Ignore major version updates: majors are planned manual upgrades (framework migrations, base image jumps), not bot PRs. Minor/patch updates keep flowing, grouped into one PR per ecosystem.
  • Dependabot security alerts are unaffected by these settings.

Why

The first Dependabot run opened ~25 PRs at once (long backlog of majors: Angular 21→22, .NET 8→10, Actions 4→7…), flooding notifications.

Verification

  • YAML structure validated for every ecosystem (version, monthly, rebase-strategy, limit, ignore).
  • Prettier passes (portfolio gates .github too).
  • Config-only change: no code impact.

- Monthly schedule and rebase-strategy: disabled, so no weekly PR/rebase churn.
- Explicit open-pull-requests-limit of 5 on every ecosystem.
- Major version updates are ignored: majors are planned manual upgrades
(framework migrations, base image jumps), not bot PRs. Minor and patch
updates keep flowing, grouped into one PR per ecosystem.
- Dependabot security alerts are not affected.
