SandBase Agents

This repository is the standard registry for SandBase Agents and Agent Services.

An Agent Service is a reusable capability that can be imported into SandBase Store, attached to an Agent, used inside a Workflow, or delivered by an FDE project.

This repository is designed for SandBase core contributors and third-party developers. A valid Agent Service is not just a prompt. It must include:

  • service manifest
  • one or more skill definitions
  • system prompt
  • function schema
  • example input and output
  • test cases
  • human-readable documentation

Core Concepts

Agent Service = Manifest + Skills + Prompt + Function Schema + Runtime + Artifacts

Agent = Goal + Instructions + Agent Services + Session + Runtime

Workflow = Agent Services + State + Schedule + Artifacts + Delivery

Delivery Levels

Level 1: Prompt Service

Use this for writing, summarization, classification, research planning, and report generation.

Required:

  • manifest.json
  • skills//skill.md
  • system.md
  • run.schema.json
  • examples
  • tests

Level 2: Function Service

Use this when the service calls external APIs, MCP servers, models, search providers, scraping providers, or SaaS connectors.

Required:

  • everything in Level 1
  • implementation endpoint or provider mapping
  • auth requirements
  • error model
  • output artifacts

Level 3: Workflow Service

Use this when the service orchestrates multiple capabilities, runs on a schedule, or produces ongoing deliverables.

Required:

  • everything in Level 2
  • workflow steps
  • saved task template
  • schedule template
  • artifact retention policy

Import Contract

SandBase should be able to import every service by reading:

services/<service-id>/manifest.json

The manifest links to all other files.

Current Example

The first complete example is:

services/company-research/

It demonstrates a research-oriented Agent Service with:

  • manifest
  • skill folder
  • system prompt
  • function schema
  • examples
  • test cases
