Summary

  • reframe Render Workflows as an SDK-first product with local development as the primary validation loop
  • make workflows init an optional starter accelerator instead of a prerequisite
  • update Python and TypeScript examples for SDK 1.x, including TaskContext and ctx.run
  • update CLI scaffolding, local-run, release, and deployment verification guidance
  • remove embedded plan, quota, retention, and pricing details in favor of the canonical limits and pricing page
  • refresh task patterns and troubleshooting for the current SDK and CLI

Validation

  • parsed all Python and JSON fenced examples
  • validated YAML frontmatter against the repository convention
  • ran git diff --check
  • exercised official Python and TypeScript starter projects locally with Render CLI 2.24.0, Python SDK 1.0.1, and TypeScript SDK 1.0.0, including task registration, named and positional inputs, and chained task execution

Correction: this should have gone to renderinc/skills, which is where internal development happens. The follow-up work now lives there as renderinc/skills#43 (stacked on the internal twin of this PR, renderinc/skills#41) and renderinc/skills#42. Both are drafts pending review. The render-oss PRs I opened, #14 and #15, are closed. Apologies for the noise here.
