Interferes with Up/Down keys

So I've managed to get it to work, shows the GitHub icon next to Copilot, got lots of icons next to everything in my list, but Up/Down arrows no longer work to scroll through items in the list.

If I forcibly set the following:

['<Down>'] = cmp.mapping(cmp.mapping.select_next_item()),
['<Up>'] = cmp.mapping(cmp.mapping.select_prev_item()),

Up/Down arrows work again, but the icons disappear ..

I don't suppose you have an "Aha!" feeling where you understand why this would happen? The two things don't seem related to me?
