If you are installing LinkBridge on a machine with a graphical desktop environment:
- Download the
.debfile from the Releases page. - Open your terminal, navigate to where you downloaded the file, and install it:
cd ~/Downloads
sudo apt install ./linkbridge_1.0.0_amd64.deb
- Desktop Shortcut: The installer will automatically detect your GUI and place a "LinkBridge Dashboard" shortcut directly on your Desktop. Simply double-click it to manage your encoders!
If you are deploying LinkBridge to a headless server (like an Ubuntu Server N100), you can download and install it entirely via the command line:
- Download the latest release using
wget:
wget https://github.com/nuken/LinkBridge/releases/download/1.0.0/linkbridge_1.0.0_amd64.deb
- Install the package using
apt(this automatically resolves any dependencies):
sudo apt install ./linkbridge_1.0.0_amd64.deb
- Watch the terminal output! The installer will automatically display your exact network URL (e.g.,
http://192.168.x.x:8090) so you can open the dashboard from your main PC.
If a stream fails to start or your hardware isn't being detected, you can check the live application logs using journalctl:
sudo journalctl -u linkbridge -f
