📝 Description

This PR revamps the project README.md to transform it from an exhaustive internal reference manual into an open-source project landing page optimized for developer comprehension, curiosity, and fast local adoption.

🎯 Key Enhancements

  1. Clear Hero Positioning:

    • Central message: "Define your GraphQL schema. Get a production-ready backend automatically."
    • Explains WHAT it is, WHO it is for, and WHY a developer would use it in 3 concise sentences.
    • Verified badge bar (GitHub Actions CI, Stars, MIT License, Node.js >= 18, GraphQL 15.8, Polyglot DB, TypeScript SDK).
  2. The Magic Example as the Hero:

    • Placed right under the hero section.
    • Shows the minimal 10-line schemas/Product.graphql example.
    • Illustrates the complete compiled capabilities (Dynamic DB models, CRUD query/mutation APIs, aggregations, relational joins, N+1 DataLoaders, real-time WebSocket subscriptions, and Studio UI).
    • Features syntax-verified real GraphQL query and mutation examples.
  3. "Who is AutoGraphQL for?" & "It may not be for you if...":

    • Clarifies target developer profiles (Node.js GraphQL developers seeking schema-first velocity).
    • Honestly outlines non-target use cases (REST-first, DB-first reverse engineering, or hosted BaaS).
  4. Quick Start UX:

    • 4 copy-paste commands with Docker Compose (npm run db:up).
    • Clear tabular distinction between local development URLs (/studio, /graphql/core, /health/live, /health/ready) and repository resources.
  5. Visual Control Plane (AutoGraphQL Studio):

    • High-impact screenshot preview of the Universal Data Browser.
    • Summarizes the 6 integrated tools (Data Browser, AI Schema Architect with BYO-LLM, Visual ERD, RBAC/RLS Matrix, Webhooks Outbox, and Telemetry) while linking to docs/studio-user-guide.md for deep documentation.
  6. Architecture & "What Happens Under the Hood?":

    • Concise ~100-word explanation of Schema Auto-Discovery -> AST Compilation -> Model & Resolver Generation -> Request-Scoped DataLoaders -> In-process Hooks & Outbox.
  7. Directives & Documentation Architecture:

    • High-value 8-row cheatsheet covering core directives (@model, @relation, @tenantScoped, @ownerScoped, @userPermissions, @unique, @defaultValue, @cacheControl).
    • Comprehensive documentation directory table linking to in-depth guides in docs/.

🔍 Verification & Audit

  • Final line count: 355 lines (down from 762 lines; right within the 300–450 line landing page target).
  • Broken / Local Links: 0 remaining (purged all file:// and vscode-resource URLs; verified all relative paths exist on disk).
  • Test Suite: 102 passing tests (npm test).
  • CI / Governance: Compatible with GitHub Actions CI workflow (schema:diff exits with code 0).
