The tested workflow supports:

- ✅ Alt+Tab/window focus
- ✅ Model Viewer
- ✅ FBX export
- ✅ Blender editing
- ✅ FBX import
- ✅ ModPack creation/export
- ✅ Penumbra testing
Important
This repository is for the original Windows FFXIV TexTools. It is not a guide for the separate native Linux project named XIVTools.
Caution
This setup has been tested on Fedora KDE Plasma 44 + NVIDIA. Other distributions, GPUs, and desktop environments may work, but have not been tested as thoroughly.
Follow the Beginner installation guide.
After the prerequisites are installed, start the setup with:
bash setup.shAfter setup finishes:
~/bin/textoolsThen check that Alt+Tab, Model Viewer, and one FBX export work normally.

The troubleshooting and development of this Linux TexTools workaround—especially the Model Viewer Wine analysis and the NotAssetCc.exe / winedbg --auto / AeDebug investigation—was assisted by OpenAI GPT-5.6 Sol High.
Human testing and validation were performed on the actual Fedora/Wine/TexTools environment, including the complete FBX → Blender → TexTools → ModPack → Penumbra workflow.
