Configure environment via VSCode settings?

Hi,
We'd like to automatically configure the VSCode environment in our team, including selecting a Python environment within this plugin. Is there any way we can configure the chosen environment via .vscode/settings.json, so that we can automate this process?

Hi,
Unfortunately it's not yet clear to me. I have only a single python project in my repo, which I want to load with the pixi environment manager (for which a plugin exists).
In the docs, I only see how to share the config regarding the manager, and which projects are discoverable, but not which project/python env is currently activated. Can I somehow set this in .vscode/settings.json ?

I hit exactly this in a monorepo: one root pixi manifest defining ~20 named environments, 19 Python projects opened as a multi-root workspace. Each project needs a specific environment, and the mapping needs to live in the repo so a fresh clone works.

Manual selection works, but that's a big dev-experience ask to manually plumb all the environments together.

When using .devcontainer.json and multiple python environments are already present when extensions start in container (i.e global python install and a venv), it is necessary to be able to control statically which python environment will be chosen for the python project.
