This pull request upgrades all .NET isolated backend projects, MSSQL variants, and their test projects from .NET 8 to .NET 10, and updates related documentation and deployment templates to reflect this breaking change. It also updates several Azure Functions package dependencies and makes minor improvements to test setup by using null instead of empty strings for environment variables.

.NET Version Upgrade and Breaking Change Announcement

  • All project files (*.csproj) for durablefunctionsmonitor.dotnetisolated, durablefunctionsmonitor.dotnetisolated.core, durablefunctionsmonitor.dotnetisolated.mssql, custom-backends/dotnetIsolated, and custom-backends/dotnetIsolated-mssql now target .NET 10.0 instead of .NET 8.0 [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6].
  • Added prominent breaking change notes to both README.md files, instructing users to update their Azure Function App configuration to .NET 10 before upgrading [1] [2].

Deployment Template Updates

  • Updated ARM templates (arm-template.json) for both main and MSSQL backends to set netFrameworkVersion to v10.0 [1] [2].

Azure Functions Package Updates

  • In custom-backends/dotnetIsolated/Dfm.DotNetIsolated.csproj, upgraded Azure Functions Worker and DurableTask extension packages to newer versions compatible with .NET 10.

Test Code Improvements

Test Project Target Framework

  • The test project now targets .NET 10.0 to match the main codebase.

.NET 9+ keeps empty env var values instead of deleting them, so AuthTests
DataRows now pass null to mean 'unset'.

Extended per controller ruling: the same net9+ SetEnvironmentVariable
behavior change also affected every other Environment.SetEnvironmentVariable(name,
string.Empty/"") call in the isolated core test suite (AuthTests, GlobalsTests,
IdSuggestionsTests, ServeStaticsTests, SetupTests) — on net8 an empty value
meant "delete the variable", so those calls are now switched to null to
preserve the original "unset" semantics.
