…n 7.2 Stock Release 20260912 was compared per driver: for every Wi-Fi and Bluetooth module in each image, the firmware it declares against what ships. Stock had overtaken us in a few places. This adds every gap a driver we build can actually load, for chips under ~15 years old, plus one older blob that is free: - btusb Qualcomm USB rampatch/NVM set: Rome 2.0-3.2, WCN6855 and its QCA2066 board variant, WCN785x (~1.3 MB; linux-firmware-extra) - btrtl rtl8761cu (USB BT dongle) and rtl8922au (Wi-Fi 7 combo BT) - btmtk MT7920 BT (_MEDIATEK_MT7920_BT) - mwifiex_usb 88W8797/8801 (_MWIFIEX_USB8797/8801) and 88W8997 (usbusb8997_combo_v4.bin; linux-firmware-extra) - rt73.bin (_RALINK_RT73): RT73 is from 2005, but the blob is 2 KB and rt73usb was already built without it Checked and not added, with reasons in docs/firmware-parity.md: stock's ar3k/<id>/ PS configs (read only by the UART hci_ath path; USB ath3k loads the .dfu files we ship), rtlwifi/rtl8723bu_bt.bin (stock's copy is linux-firmware's rtl8723bs_bt.bin renamed, and 6.18's rtl8xxxu never sets enable_bluetooth, so it always loads rtl8723bu_nic.bin), 88W8766 and libertas (2006-11), and xone_dongle_02f9/091e (laptop built-in adapters per xone's own table). 7.2 sweep: every Kconfig symbol under drivers/net/wireless and drivers/bluetooth, 6.18.54 vs 7.2.8. The only new USB drivers are RTW89_8852AU, RTW89_8852CU and RTW89_8922AU. They are enabled on both 7.2 kernels (DE10 RT fragment, DE25 linux.config), not in the shared fragment, which must stay a no-op on 6.18. Their firmware already ships. ci-tests asserts the new blobs. Verified: DE10 build (6.18.54 + RT 7.2.8) with the firmware packages dircleaned, ci-tests 211/0 (QEMU boot tests on both kernels included), check-defconfigs OK, image 31.3% free (was 31.9%); DE25 build with the new firmware and the three rtw89 modules; the 7.2 modules' declared firmware all present. …seline Review on #216: the three rtw89 USB drivers enabled for 7.2 were only build-verified, and olddefconfig drops a fragment symbol silently, so a green build did not prove they ship. ci-tests now checks rtw89_8852au/8852cu/8922au in the RT tree of rootfs.tar (version from BR2_PACKAGE_LINUX_RT_VERSION) and in output-de25's module tree (skipped when the DE25 is not built, like the other DE25 checks). Both pass on this build. Hiding one DE25 module makes the DE25 check fail. README: the comparison intro said every stock figure came from Release 20260907. It now says the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth rows were re-measured against 20260912. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Re-measured Wi-Fi/Bluetooth firmware per driver against stock Release 20260912 and closed every gap a driver we build can actually load: the btusb Qualcomm USB set, rtl8761cu/rtl8922au BT, MT7920 BT, Marvell 8797/8801/8997 and rt73 (~3.3 MB). Also enables the three rtw89 USB drivers new in 7.2 (RTL8852AU, RTL8852CU, RTL8922AU) on the RT and DE25 kernels. Their firmware already ships.
What was checked and deliberately left out (stock's ar3k PS configs, rtl8723bu_bt.bin, ancient Marvell/libertas, laptop-only Xbox adapters) is in
docs/firmware-parity.md.DE10 (6.18.54 + RT 7.2.8) and DE25 builds green; ci-tests 211/0; image 31.3% free.
