Windows users can now install and update errand with Scoop, which also puts errand.exe on PATH. When a stable release is published, a Windows job installs the generated manifest with Scoop and checks the version, then a second job updates bucket/errand.json in lydakis/scoop-errand with the same guards as the Homebrew tap. Before: a Windows user downloads a zip, unzips
errand.exesomewhere, and runs it by its full path. Nothing puts it on PATH, and upgrading means downloading again. After:
scoop bucket add errand https://github.com/lydakis/scoop-errand, thenscoop install errandanderrand setup.scoop update errandupgrades, and Scoop reminds you to runerrand setupagain. How: when a stable release is published, a new Publish Scoop workflow takes over. Its first job runs on Windows with no secrets. It downloads the published Windows zips and
checksums.txt, rendersbucket/errand.jsonwithscripts/prepare_scoop_update.py, installs that manifest with Scoop (from a pinned, hash-checked installer), and checkserrand version. A second job renders the manifest again from the same assets and writes it to lydakis/scoop-errand through the Contents API. It follows the same rules as the Homebrew tap: an identical update does nothing, an older release can't downgrade the bucket, and a different manifest for the same version is refused.docs/WINDOWS.mdanddocs/RELEASING.mdcover installing and publishing. The bucket repo exists with a README on
main.GORELEASER_TOKENneeds Contents write access to it; a fine-grained token scoped only to the Homebrew tap needs the repo added.🤖 Generated with Claude Code
