This refactor deliberately keeps the abstraction boundary small: provider-native clients stay provider-native, while the agent loop depends only on the streaming capability it actually needs.

  • replace the one-method LLM interface with a StreamFunc
  • make agent tools a single source of truth
  • honor native Anthropic providers
  • preserve structured Anthropic tool use and streaming
  • simplify the OpenAI client surface

Intentionally not included: a generic provider hierarchy, proxy codec reuse as the agent IR, or a Responses API migration.
