Tf is this? I hate ads so much 😠, i think we need this fixed immediately.
My current solution is to simply download the chapters beforehand, as the images do not get downloaded with the text.

Actually, I was thinking about this, and it could be a good idea to just have a setting to prevent html from loading external elements (maybe with a per-source override option). That would be an issue for the main app, though.

That would require you to talk to the devs and see if they agree.
Okay, so (i think) recently, FWN has changed the way they load their ads, and show placeholder images before loading the ads. This causes those same images to be shown in chapters.
Here's a screenshot (the image is tiny because of custom CSS):
