FBAR โ FinalBurn Android Reborn
FBAR (FinalBurn Android Reborn) is a personal passion project focused on bringing the classic Android arcade-emulation experience back to modern Android devices.
FBAR is my hobby project and is developed independently in my spare time. It is inspired by discontinued Android arcade emulators such as aFBA, FBA4droid, and Kawaks Android.
The goal is to preserve the simplicity and feel of those classic emulators while improving Design, compatibility and usability on modern Android versions and add new features.
ยซFBAR is an independent project and is not affiliated with the original developers of aFBA, FBA4droid, Kawaks, or FinalBurn.ยป
๐ฎ What is FBAR?
FBAR โ FinalBurn Android Reborn โ is an Android arcade-emulation project created out of a personal interest in classic arcade games and emulation.
I started this project because I wanted to bring back the experience of the older Android arcade emulators that are no longer actively maintained.
The project focuses on:
- Playing classic arcade games on modern Android devices
- Maintaining the simplicity of older FBA Android emulators
- Improving compatibility with newer Android versions
- Providing a simple and practical frontend
- Improving touch controls and usability
- Preserving the classic arcade-emulation experience
This is not a commercial project. It is something I work on as a hobby because I enjoy arcade games, emulation, and Android development.
๐น๏ธ Inspired By
FBAR is inspired by the history of arcade emulation and, particularly, the Android projects that made FBA-style emulation accessible on mobile devices.

FBAR is not an official continuation of any of these projects. It is my own independent hobby project inspired by them.
โค๏ธ Why I Made FBAR
Older Android arcade emulators like Fba4droid, afba, kwasks Android were some of the simplest and most enjoyable ways to play arcade games on a phone. also they where ahad from other emulator which is supporting hacked rom on Android.
Unfortunately, Android has changed significantly over the years. Many older applications were designed for much earlier versions of Android and no longer work correctly on modern devices.
I wanted to see if I could bring that experience back.
So FBAR started as a personal project:
ยซAn attempt to bring the classic FBA Android Fba4droid experience back to life on modern Android.ยป
There is no commercial goal behind the project. I work on FBAR simply because I enjoy it.
โจ Project Goals
The main goals of FBAR are:
- Modern Android compatibility
- Reliable arcade emulation
- Simple ROM management
- Easy game launching
- Comfortable touch controls
- Physical controller support
- Better screen scaling
- Modern Android storage compatibility
- A clean and lightweight interface
- Maintaining the classic FBA-style experience
Development is intentionally incremental.
ยซKeep what works. Improve one thing at a time.ยป
๐ ROM Directory
FBAR uses:
/sdcard/fba
Example:
/sdcard/fba/ โโโ game1.zip โโโ game2.zip โโโ game3.zip
FBAR does not include copyrighted ROM files.
Users are responsible for obtaining and using ROMs legally.
๐ฑ Modern Android
One of the main reasons for creating FBAR is the increasing incompatibility of older Android arcade emulators with modern Android versions.
FBAR is designed to address modern Android issues such as:
- Scoped storage
- Application permissions
- Modern SDK requirements
- File-system access
- Modern screen resolutions
- Touch input
- External controllers
- Modern CPU/GPU hardware
๐ ๏ธ Development Status
FBAR is a personal hobby project and development is done in my spare time.
It is not developed by a company or development team.
Features and improvements are added gradually as I have time and interest to work on them.
Because this is a personal project, development speed may vary.
Stability is also important. When something works reliably, changes should be made carefully rather than constantly replacing working components.
Artificial intelligence used for debugging purpose to keep my sanity in check. so if you have issue with that move forward with your issues.
