I can't reproduce this now: curl "https://search.devbox.sh/v2/search?q=python" returns HTTP 200 today. It looks like a transient outage of the search service (it recurred briefly on 2026-08-05, per the comment above, and then recovered). That is service availability rather than a CLI bug, so there's nothing concrete in the devbox code to fix.

A public status page, or clearer retry/error messaging in devbox search when the API returns 5xx, would help users tell outages apart from local problems.

On the mirroring question: devbox search and resolution talk to the search API directly. I'm not aware of a supported way to proxy or mirror it through Artifactory.
