All four are front matter or page furniture narrated as prose. None raised an error — no rule asks whether a block should have been there at all. They surfaced as SYM-02 complaining that "UNIV", "OF", "TEXAS", "AT" and "AUSTIN" are acronyms the listener has to guess.

A stamp down the side of the page

Downloaded by UNIV OF TEXAS AT AUSTIN on August 27, 2015 | http://pubs.acs.org

Rotated, vertically centred, on all twelve pages of one paper — as far from the top and bottom as a block can get, so the edge band never looked there.

Position is the usual evidence for furniture and the right evidence for a running head, but it is not the only kind: a block repeating on nearly every page is furniture wherever it sits. The bar is set higher than the edge band's (90% of pages, floor of three) because this is repetition standing on its own, without position to corroborate it.

A banner above the title

JES COLLECTION OF INVITED BATTERY REVIEW PAPERS is printed above Review—Hard Carbon Negative Electrode Materials for Sodium-Ion Batteries, in the same block and at the same type size — so the title heuristic took both, and the programme opened by announcing the collection.

Four words minimum, because a title may legitimately open with an acronym: "XPS Analysis of Silicon Anodes" keeps its XPS. Tested.

The rights notice cost one paper its abstract

It is back matter printed at the front, and this paper runs it straight on from the abstract's last sentence:

…into tangible practical products. © The Author(s) 2015. Published by ECS. This is an open access article distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 License…

_BOILERPLATE_HINT is not anchored, so that one licence sentence condemned the whole block and the abstract was dropped. It is cut off instead, the way back matter already is at the other end.

The publication history, however the journal words it

Anchoring on Received: … Accepted: matched one house style. This was narrated in full:

Manuscript submitted July 2, 2015; revised manuscript received August 17, 2015. Published October 9, 2015.

Corpus

Errors stay at 2 with 10/12 clean. These are quality fixes, not error fixes — which is the point: the watermark was in the audio of every page of that paper and the lint suite had nothing to say about it.

11 new test cases, 6 of them guards.

All four were front matter or furniture narrated as prose. None of them raised an
error, because no rule asks whether a block should have been there -- they showed
up as SYM-02 complaining that "UNIV", "OF", "TEXAS", "AT" and "AUSTIN" are
acronyms the listener has to guess.

ACS stamps "Downloaded by UNIV OF TEXAS AT AUSTIN on August 27, 2015 |
http://pubs.acs.org" down the side of the page, rotated and vertically centred --
as far from the top and bottom as a block can get -- on all twelve pages of one
paper. Position is the usual evidence for furniture and the right evidence for a
running head, but it is not the only kind: a block repeating on nearly every page
is furniture wherever it sits. The bar is higher than the edge band's, because
this is repetition standing on its own without position to corroborate it.

A journal prints a collection banner above the title. "JES COLLECTION OF INVITED
BATTERY REVIEW PAPERS" sits in the same block as "Review—Hard Carbon Negative
Electrode Materials for Sodium-Ion Batteries", at the same type size, so the title
heuristic took both and the programme opened by announcing the collection. Four
words minimum, because a title may legitimately open with an acronym.

The rights notice is back matter printed at the front, and one paper runs it on
from the last sentence of its abstract. Triage's boilerplate hint is not anchored,
so that one licence sentence condemned the whole block: the abstract was dropped.
It is cut off instead, like the back matter at the other end.

And the publication history, however the journal words it. Anchoring on
"Received:" and "Accepted:" matched one house style; "Manuscript submitted July 2,
2015; revised manuscript received August 17, 2015. Published October 9, 2015." was
narrated in full.
