What changed

MonoCode can now talk to self-hosted GitHub and Jira:

  • GitHub Enterprise Server – new Settings → GitHub → Host field (defaults to github.com). Every gh call runs with GH_HOST. Auth status, CI check details, avatars and remote matching use the configured host. Frontend links (PRs/issues, CI file links, CI repair prompt) and GitHub URL parsing follow it too. The gh auth token for inbox media is only sent to the configured host, so a GHES token never goes to github.com. The MonoCode star prompt still targets github.com explicitly.
  • Jira Server / Data Center – on connect, /rest/api/2/serverInfo tells Cloud apart from Server/Data Center. Server/Data Center uses REST v2 (/search, /project, name in /myself) and plain-text comments instead of ADF. Leaving the email empty sends the token as a personal access token (Bearer). Self-hosted context paths such as https://jira.example.com/jira are kept. Existing saved configs default to Cloud, so nothing changes for current users.
  • Jira project filter – search by name or key, Select all / Unselect all (applied to the projects the search currently shows), a selected-count label, and a scrollable list for instances with many projects.
  • Per-source inbox filters – filters (Assigned to me, status, time, projects, kinds) are now stored per source: GitHub, Linear, Jira, GitLab and ADO. Each provider fetches with its own assignedToMe/state, so turning on Assigned to me for Jira no longer narrows GitHub. A filter saved before this change seeds every source, so nothing resets for existing users.
  • TLS – enables ureq's native-certs feature, so HTTPS requests trust the OS certificate store. Without it, hosts behind a corporate CA fail with "Could not reach Jira".

Why

Corporate setups often run GitHub Enterprise and Jira Data Center behind an internal CA. Before this change:

  • GitHub status was hard-checked against github.com, so a user signed in to gh only on a GHES host showed as signed out.
  • Several URLs were hard-coded to github.com.
  • Jira was Cloud-only: REST v3, email + API token, accountId, and only the bundled webpki roots for TLS.

UI

  • Settings → GitHub: new Host row with an input and a Save button. The sign-in hint shows gh auth login --hostname <host> for enterprise hosts.
  • Settings → Jira:
    • The email is now optional; leave it empty for a Data Center PAT.
    • Updated hint and placeholders.
    • The connected state shows "Personal access token" when no email is set.
    • The project list has a search box and Select all / Unselect all.

Known limitations

  • Inline images from GHES in issue bodies are still stripped by the static rehype-harden prefix list.
  • Avatars from Jira Data Center or a private GHES may need an authenticated session to load.

Checklist

  • I ran npm run check (fmt, clippy -D warnings, 538 Rust tests, 4171 vitest tests, tsc)
  • This PR is small and focused – it covers the self-hosted GitHub/Jira support plus the project-filter usability it needed; happy to split it
  • I did not mix unrelated changes

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Configure GitHub Enterprise hosts for sign-in, status checks, pull requests, work items, and related links.
    • Set inbox filters independently for each connected source.
    • Connect Jira Server and Data Center using personal access tokens without an email address.
    • Search Jira projects and select or clear all projects currently shown.
  • Bug Fixes
    • Improved compatibility with self-hosted Jira sites, including context paths and deployment-specific authentication and comments.
    • GitHub links and work items now use the correct server, keeping items from different GitHub hosts distinct.

Jira: detect Cloud vs Server/Data Center via /rest/api/2/serverInfo.
Server/Data Center uses REST v2, plain-text comments and personal
access tokens sent as Bearer when the email is left empty. Keep a
self-hosted context path such as /jira. Add project search and
select/unselect all to the Jira project filter.

GitHub: add a configurable host (Settings > GitHub > Host). gh runs
with GH_HOST, auth status, check details, avatars and remote matching
use the configured host, and frontend links and URL parsing follow it.
The gh token is only sent to the configured host.

HTTP: enable ureq native-certs so corporate CAs from the OS trust
store are accepted.

📝 Walkthrough

The app adds configurable GitHub Enterprise host support across backend operations, settings, inbox, and session URLs. Jira configuration and requests now support Cloud and Server/Data Center deployments. Inbox filters are stored and applied independently for each provider.

Changes: Configurable GitHub Host

Layer / File(s) Summary
Host configuration and app initialization
src-tauri/src/github_host.rs, src-tauri/src/lib.rs, src-tauri/Cargo.toml, src/features/inbox/model/githubHost.ts, src/main.tsx, src/features/settings/ui/SettingsView.tsx
The app loads and persists a normalized GitHub host through Tauri commands. Startup loads the host, and settings can save it and refresh connection status.
GitHub operations and media routing
src-tauri/src/fs.rs, src-tauri/src/inbox_media.rs

Merge Risk: ⚪ Minimal · up to fb91b

Switching between GitHub servers does not retain the previous server’s checks. The reported explicit-port configuration issue does not apply to supported host settings; no actionable merge-blocking risk remains after normal checks.

Security architecture risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to d2b10

Enterprise support introduces meaningful credential and provider-identity risks. Media authentication does not distinguish separate HTTPS services on the same hostname, and changing hosts can leave other open windows using stale provider identity. Exposure depends on the Enterprise deployment and concurrent window usage.

Retained concerns

  • High · security · inferred: Enterprise media credentials are restricted by hostname rather than HTTPS origin. A provider-authored Markdown link to https://github.example.com:8443/user-attachments/assets/x passes the frontend and native hostname checks and is automatically fetched with the configured Enterprise token. If an attacker controls that alternate-port service and it presents a trusted certificate, it receives the token before response-type validation. The existing port-stripping behavior now applies to Enterprise destinations; this is not arbitrary-domain credential delivery.
  • Medium · security · inferred: The GitHub host is process-global in the native layer, while its frontend mirror and inbox caches are window-local. Saving a host updates and clears only the saving window's state. Another open window can retain the previous host's links and work items while subsequent native GitHub requests use the newly configured host. Provider host identity is absent from the inbox cache key. Opening Settings unmounts the inbox in the saving window, which mitigates that window's stale-result path but does not coordinate other windows.
Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • inferred — The media concern is bounded to the configured Enterprise hostname, not arbitrary destinations. Successful token capture additionally requires control of a reachable alternate HTTPS service with a certificate trusted by the client. Subsequent exposure would inherit the captured token's permissions; those permissions and any specific affected repositories are not established.

Security Findings and Attack Paths

  • inferred — An attacker able to place a media-shaped link in a displayed provider description can trigger a native request without a separate click. Both media classifiers ignore the URL port for host matching, while the request retains it. The static image-prefix restriction is counterevidence for image syntax, but ordinary links are allowed and the link renderer converts recognized links into automatic media fetches.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • observed — Native media fetching disables automatic redirects, rechecks each target, requires HTTPS, restricts attachment paths, and attaches credentials only when the authentication hostname policy matches. Enterprise mode does not attach its token to github.com. These controls restrict cross-host delivery but do not enforce a same-origin port boundary.

Resilience and Maintainability Implications

  • inferred — Provider filter changes preserve distinct cache identities and cancel obsolete component continuations. Host transitions instead rely on explicit window-local invalidation, so those safeguards do not establish coherent identity across already-open windows sharing the native destination.

Hardening Proposals

  • proposed — Bind each media token to an immutable issuing origin for the entire request and redirect chain. Enforce that origin, including the effective port, at the native boundary before attaching credentials.
  • proposed — Treat a host change as a versioned identity transition shared across windows: propagate the new identity, invalidate affected caches and mounted state, and reject responses or actions associated with an obsolete identity.

…tem host

- Reject a port in the GitHub host; gh and link matching use hostnames.
- Fall back to the Atlassian Cloud hostname when serverInfo has no
  deploymentType.
- Apply the host from a status response only in the guarded settings
path, so a stale response cannot restore an old host.
- Keep the origin of a persisted linked work item URL instead of
rewriting it to the current GitHub host.
Assigned to me, status, time, project and kind filters are stored per
source (GitHub, Linear, Jira, GitLab, ADO). Each provider fetches with
its own assignedToMe/state, so turning on Assigned to me for Jira no
longer narrows GitHub. Filters saved before the split seed every
source.

Thanks for putting this together, @nikolas-nelson. I found three cases to address before merging:

  • github_auth_host ignores ports, so an attachment on another HTTPS service at the same hostname can receive the GitHub token. Please check the full origin on requests and redirects.
  • inboxItemMatchesLinkedWorkItem ignores the server, while gh_run uses the current global host. Saved links and items in another open window can therefore lead to comments or merges on the wrong server. Please include the host in item identities and actions, and synchronize host changes across windows.
  • apply_gh_env leaves inherited GH_HOST values active when github.com is selected. Please set GH_HOST explicitly for github.com too.

Could you add regression tests for these cases? Thanks!

Address maintainer review on hardbeat920#704:

- Media: compare the full origin (host and port) before attaching the
gh token, on the first request and on every redirect. Relative
redirects keep the port, and non-default ports are never allowed
  media targets.
- Items and actions: GitHub item identities, cache keys and linked-item
matching include the server (github.com keys stay unprefixed, so
existing seen state still matches). Item commands take a `host` that
is scoped to that command, so a saved link or another window's item
comments on, merges or reads from its own server. Host changes are
  broadcast to every window.
- GH_HOST: set explicitly for github.com too, so an inherited GH_HOST
  cannot redirect gh.

Adds regression tests for each case.

Thanks for the review, @hardbeat920! All three are addressed in fb91b10. The branch is also merged with current main (1cd2c2a), so conflicts are resolved.

1. Media token and ports. MediaUrl now keeps the port. github_auth_target attaches the gh token only when the request goes to the configured host on the default HTTPS port. This is checked on the first request and on every redirect. Relative redirects keep the port, and URLs with a non-default port are no longer allowed media targets at all.
Tests: github_token_only_goes_to_the_configured_origin, relative_redirects_keep_the_port.

2. Server-aware identities and actions.

  • inboxIdentityKey and the details/thread/diff/work-item cache keys now include the item's server, taken from its URL. github.com keys stay unprefixed, so existing seen state keeps matching.
  • inboxItemMatchesLinkedWorkItem compares the server too.
  • The nine per-item GitHub commands (work_item(s), details, thread, comment, pr_action, pr_diff, pr_checks, check_details) take a host argument. It is applied with github_host::with_host, a thread-local scope covering GH_HOST, --hostname, the API base and avatars for that one command. A saved link or an item in another window therefore comments on, merges or reads from its own server, regardless of the global setting.
  • The frontend passes githubHostOf(item.url) at every call site, including PR checks and CI evidence links.
  • github_host_set emits github-host-changed, and every window updates its mirrored host from it.
Tests: scoped_host_applies_only_inside_the_command, GitHub items on different servers (an action targets the item's server after a host change, and same-slug items on different servers are kept apart), does not match a saved link to the same repo slug on another server, follows host changes saved in another window.

3. Explicit GH_HOST. apply_gh_env now always sets GH_HOST, including github.com, so an inherited value can't redirect gh.
Test: gh_host_is_set_explicitly_for_github_com.

npm run check passes: fmt, clippy -D warnings, 657 Rust tests, 5297 vitest tests and tsc.
