Google sheets JavaScript quick start opens a blank page

Summary

I followed the quick start tutorial on this page: https://developers.google.com/sheets/api/quickstart/js#authorize_credentials_for_a_web_application

When I run the code on the page, I get a blank page with just the title on it: "Sheets API Quickstart".

Expected Behavior

Sample URL: http://127.0.0.1:8000
Description: See a prompt to authorize access

Actual Behavior

Steps to Reproduce the Problem

1. Copy the code from the site.
2. Install the required npm libraries as mentioned on the site.
3. Open the link displayed on the console.
