Paris · CFD Engineer & Developer · Open to CFD / Aerodynamic work
Hi! I'm Bing Gao. I'm pursuing an Engineering Degree in Modelling and Computational Mechanics at ESILV, where I am a member of the aerodynamics team at Vinci Eco Drive, the school's Formula Student team. My work spans aerodynamic concept and package design, cooling-system design, thermal-fluid modelling, numerical verification, and simulation tooling.
Before moving into computational mechanics, I spent nearly eight years in mobile software development and team management. I helped build Lao You, a Chinese live-streaming app, from scratch, wrote more than 70% of its core code, and helped grow it to more than 2 million users. I also built automated delivery and security-monitoring systems for the product.
Today, I bring a programmer's mindset to mechanical design and simulation, treating geometry modelling, meshing, solver setup, post-processing, and acceptance criteria as one reproducible workflow.
From 2015 to 2023, I served as a core organizer for Google Developer Group Beijing. I organized about ten free technical events a year, each typically attracting 200–500 attendees. I invited speakers from Google in Silicon Valley and from major internet companies in Beijing, and I helped organize sessions on mobile and front-end development, Google Cloud, TensorFlow, and later AI technologies.
I contribute to open-source projects in scientific computing, solvers, serialization, and data processing. I focus on libraries I use or evaluate in my own work and on defects I can reproduce directly. I use Codex and Claude Code to support investigation and testing; I remain responsible for the final patch, review discussion, and regression coverage. The table below highlights representative fixes that have been merged upstream.
More than 600 merged pull requests. The eight tested fixes below were selected collectively for technical depth, substantive maintainer discussion, project reach, and, where applicable, relevance to scientific computing and CFD.
