Alien DNA is an AI-native generative music instrument for discovering, mutating, and performing musical organisms.
Music can behave like a living system: it can grow, branch, surprise, and remain responsive to its author. Alien DNA treats musical material as a genome that can be seeded, evolved, and performed in real time.
AI is at the instrument's core, transforming prompts, patterns, and musical instinct into mutable musical DNA. Human operation is essential: the musician sets direction, listens, selects, mutates, and performs. The aim is not automated finished songs—it is a more alive creative instrument.
- AI-native musical DNA generation and mutation
- Generative MIDI and expressive performance control
- A browser-based prototype for immediate exploration
- A planned VST3 plugin for DAW workflows
- A planned standalone hardware instrument with hands-on control, MIDI, USB, and CV/Gate ambitions
Discover → Mutate → Perform → Evolve
Alien DNA is currently in development. This repository is a public project note, not the application source code.
