v10.2.0

• New module ph-schematron-saxon - ph-schematron-api is now free of Saxon - the classes that talk to Saxon moved into a new artifact com.helger.schematron:ph-schematron-saxon, so that consumers of the API module no longer drag in Saxon HE (5.5 MB) and its org.xmlresolver:xmlresolver dependencies. This is relevant for everybody who only reads Schematron results - e.g. via com.helger.schematron.svrl.SVRLResourceError or ESchematronEngine - without ever running a validation. The following classes moved from ph-schematron-api to ph-schematron-saxon, without any package, name or signature change:
  • com.helger.schematron.saxon.SaxonDOMSource
  • com.helger.schematron.saxon.SaxonNamespaceContext
  • com.helger.schematron.saxon.SaxonSecureResourceResolver
  • com.helger.schematron.saxon.SchematronProcessorFactory
  • com.helger.schematron.saxon.SchematronTransformerFactory
  • com.helger.schematron.api.telemetry.SaxonTraceListenerInstaller
  • com.helger.schematron.api.telemetry.SchematronTraceListener
  • com.helger.schematron.api.xslt.SchematronXSLTValidator
  • com.helger.schematron.api.xslt.AbstractSchematronXSLTBasedResource Everything else stays in ph-schematron-api - in particular the whole com.helger.schematron.svrl package (including SVRLHelper, SVRLMarshaller and SVRLResourceError), ESchematronEngine, ISchematronResource, com.helger.schematron.resolve and the telemetry SPI (ISchematronTemplateTelemetry, SchematronTemplateInfo, CSchematronTelemetry, RuleDurationTemplateTelemetry, SvrlTelemetryEmitter). No change is needed if you depend on one of the engine modules (ph-schematron-isosch, ph-schematron-xslt, ph-schematron-schxslt, ph-schematron-schxslt2, ph-schematron-pure-xpath, ph-schematron-pure-xslt) - they all depend on ph-schematron-saxon and therefore still bring Saxon along. Only a project that depends on ph-schematron-api directly and uses one of the nine classes above needs to add the new dependency. See the [[Migrations]] page for details. As a side effect, ph-schematron-model is now free of Saxon as well.
• The SPI implementation ThirdPartyModuleProvider_ph_schematron moved to ph-schematron-saxon and was renamed to ThirdPartyModuleProvider_ph_schematron_saxon, because Saxon HE is no longer a dependency of ph-schematron-api.
• Dependency clean up in all modules - every module now declares the artifacts it really uses and nothing more. No class and no behaviour changed; only the resolved dependency trees got smaller.
  • ph-schematron-validator no longer depends on com.helger:ph-isorelax. Jing and Trang 20241231 contain no reference to the isorelax classes any more, so the artifact was dead weight (~78 KB).
  • ph-schematron-api no longer declares ph-commons:ph-datetime directly - the SVRL model does not use any date or time type. It is still on the class path through ph-jaxb-adapter, so no consumer tree changes.
  • ph-schematron-maven-plugin, ph-schematron-ant-task and ph-schematron-benchmarks now declare com.sun.xml.bind:jaxb-impl (and, where applicable, slf4j-simple) in the runtime scope instead of compile. Both are runtime implementations, not compile time APIs.
  • Modules that directly use ph-xml, ph-io, ph-cache, ph-text, Saxon-HE, ph-schematron-api or ph-schematron-model now declare them explicitly instead of picking them up transitively.
