v1.59.4

🚀 Features

  • Redesigned Sequence Walkthrough Outline:
The current step is lifted onto its own card with a larger label, the participants it connects, and its notes rendered inline. Nested fragments now read as depth — the loop / par / alt / try you are standing inside is framed and tinted in the colour the canvas draws that frame with, while levels above and below step back. The outline animates between steps, and breadcrumb segments are clickable, so you can jump back to the first step of an enclosing fragment in one click. Motion is skipped under reduced motion and while panning.

  • Zoom and Viewport Control for Embedded Diagrams:
New minZoom and maxZoom props control the zoom range of embedded diagrams, and the view renders on the first paint instead of starting from an empty canvas. Embedded diagrams can also start centered at a caller-defined zoom, and render-view callers can set the initial canvas size hint and viewport behavior. #3249

  • Better Write-back of UI Edits:
Edits made from the UI are written back to the source more faithfully — element style rules are inserted inside the view body with correct indentation and existing properties are updated in place instead of drifting, renaming a view no longer repeats the folder path it already lives in, and view tags are written as a complete set (clearing the last tag removes the tags line; ViewChange.ChangeProperty now takes tags instead of tag: { add, remove }). Fixes #3265

  • Configurable Relationship-browser Scope:
Configure the default relationship-browser scope, and share links that preserve the selected scope. Thanks @ckeller42, #3218

  • Richer MCP App Diagrams:
render-view renders workspace-local SVG icons and opens element and relationship details in interactive diagrams, opens fullscreen where the MCP App host supports it, and returns smaller payloads by including only the model data the selected view needs (set fullModel: true for the complete model). Tool input and output schemas are advertised as JSON Schema 2020-12. Thanks @ckeller42, #3246, #3253, #3240

  • batch-read-elements Returns Links and Source Locations:
batch-read-elements now returns links and sourceLocation for each element, matching read-element, so reading those for many elements no longer needs one call per element. Thanks @parse, #3226

  • Bidirectional Deployment Relationships:
Deployment relationships support the <-> and -[kind]<-> syntax introduced in v1.59.3. Thanks @AndersHogqvist, #3227

  • Hide Title and Technology in Views:
Element and relationship title / technology can be hidden in views by setting an empty string in with { ... }. Thanks @chiliec, #3267

  • Respect Editor Workspace Exclusions:
Project and model discovery honors editor workspace exclusions before traversing folders, avoiding unnecessary scans of excluded generated files and runtime storage. Thanks @MandarinOptimizer, #3228

🐞 Bug Fixes

  • Lowered the minimum required VS Code version back to 1.100, so the extension installs on Antigravity IDE.

  • Fixed Bootstrap icons in the VS Code preview — they are loaded through the extension host instead of the CDN, and inline style attributes are allowed in the webview CSP so configured icon colors apply. Thanks @ckeller42, #3220

  • Fixed visual style edits leaking out of the selected view when it has no style rules, including dynamic views and empty views that extend another view. This prevents duplicate shared styles and unintended changes to other views. Thanks @cry999, #3268

  • Fixed Mermaid export producing invalid output for views with a group. The subgraph id no longer starts with @, which Mermaid reserves for the node@{ ... } shape syntax, and grouped elements keep their own ids. Thanks @humb1t, #3244

  • Fixed dynamic view steps ignoring the relationship kind's default title from the specification, consistent with technology. Thanks @chiliec, #3266

  • Fixed a dynamic view's configured variant being ignored when the URL does not explicitly select one. Thanks @cry999, #3238

  • Fixed preview-view for projects with non-default IDs. Thanks @ckeller42, #3232

  • Fixed the render-view fitView option hiding navigation controls. Thanks @ckeller42, #3252

  • Fixed elements reporting tags that are missing from the specification, which could happen for imported elements. LikeC4Model.tagsFromSpecification returns all declared tags.

Patch Changes

Patch Changes

  • 2f41d09 Thanks @davydkov! - Add likec4 publish to upload Graphviz-layouted models to LikeC4 Cloud as a snapshot of the current commit. Publishes every project in the workspace by default, or a single one with -p. Repository, commit, branch and tag are read from git and from GitHub Actions environment variables, and can be overridden with --origin, --sha, --branch and --tag. Authenticate with --token or the LIKEC4_PUBLISH_TOKEN environment variable; point at another instance with --url or LIKEC4_CLOUD_URL. Validation errors block the publish unless --force is passed. Publishing the same commit again overwrites its snapshot, and projects accumulate into it.

  • #3193 6028026 Thanks @Abhirup0! - Fix --theme light and --theme dark export flag not applying the requested theme in PNG and JPEG diagram exports.

  • #3182 d1099dd Thanks @luantaraschi! - likec4 validate --file now counts every file matched by the filter in filteredFiles, including files with no diagnostics. It previously counted only files that carried errors, so a clean matched file reported filteredFiles: 0.

  • #3160 5b09f1d Thanks @StefanStuehrmann! - Add a Markdown generator and export markdown CLI command. generateMarkdown renders a project's views as a single GitHub-flavored Markdown document (optionally with a project overview from options.description), reusing generateMermaid for each embedded diagram. likec4 export markdown [path] writes one README.md per project into that project's own folder — following the export png/json precedent of iterating all projects by default, with --project to restrict to one — so the rendered architecture is browsable directly on GitHub, with no server and no manual diagram assembly.

  • #3204 bf36d22 Thanks @tnucera! - Fix likec4 mcp ignoring the LIKEC4_WORKSPACE environment variable. The command overrode the shared path default, so the workspace always fell back to the current directory and the server silently served an empty model. Behaviour now matches the documented help text and the other commands.

  • #3078 61677a8 Thanks @ckeller42! - Allow generated webapps to limit available export formats from project config.

Omitting webapp.exportFormats keeps all current formats enabled; an empty list hides webapp exports.
