Anthropic only maintains -latest aliases for actively supported models. Claude 3 Sonnet was retired in July 2025 — Anthropic removed its -latest alias at the same time. The other -latest aliases in the file (claude-3-opus-latest, claude-3-5-sonnet-latest, etc.) still work
