- Created lib/paths_ubuntu.sh with XDG Base Directory paths - Replaced all ~/Library/* paths with XDG equivalents ($USER_CACHE_DIR, etc.) - Added Ubuntu-specific system cleanup functions: - APT cache cleanup (apt-get clean/autoclean) - Journal log cleanup (journalctl --vacuum) - Old kernel removal (apt-get autoremove) - Snap revision cleanup (disabled snaps) - Flatpak unused dependencies - Docker aggressive cleanup - Core dumps removal - Updated trash handling for Ubuntu (.Trash-* in /media and /mnt) - Added thumbnail cache cleanup - Replaced 169 instances of ~/Library/Caches - Updated system path protection for Linux directories Phase 1 (Core cleanup) progress: Tasks 1-3 completed
- Changed Go analyzer cache directory from ~/.cache/mole to ~/.cache/fub - Updated analyze.sh comments and error message for Fub branding - Cache directory now correctly uses XDG standard ~/.cache location Task 4 completed
Major changes: - Updated header: "Optimize Your Mac" → "Optimize Your Ubuntu System" - Replaced Touch ID functions with fingerprint (fprintd) equivalents - System maintenance section: - lsregister → update-desktop-database + update-mime-database - dscacheutil + mDNSResponder → systemd-resolve/resolvectl - purge → sync + drop_caches - atsutil → fc-cache - mdutil → updatedb - Startup items: LaunchAgents → systemctl --user list-unit-files - Cache refresh: Updated paths to use XDG variables - Maintenance scripts: periodic + newsyslog → apt maintenance + journalctl - Log cleanup: Updated to use Ubuntu crash dump locations Task 5 completed - Phase 1 done (Tasks 1-5)
