• Fixed type hints and improved filter robustness, cleaned .gitignore
• Migrated packaging metadata from setup.py to pyproject.toml: removed setup.py, requirements.txt, requirements_dev.txt and MANIFEST.in. Development dependencies are now the dev extra, installed with pip install -e ".[dev]"
• Python 3.12 is now the minimum required version (was 3.10)
• Updated linters and aligned the pre-commit hook revisions with the dev extra pins
