Most of my (unfinished) projects that I have decided to release due to platform and studio changes
falltest.vrtx - Seen here in the Vortex discord server
maze.vrtx - Seen here in the Vortex discord server. Very unfinished.
mesh.vrtx - Seen here in the Vortex discord server. Not complete.
teleportation.vrtx - Seen here in the Vortex discord server. Should be fine to use in production, however it is completely client sided, and teleportation may be buggy, it does not transfer momentum either.
LargeImage.vrtx - Seen here in the Vortex discord server. Allows you to load up to 128x128 images.
cam.vrtx -- Seen here in the Vortex discord server. Allows you to modify the camera's CFrame.
A: As much as I love Vortex, they have unfortunately steered way south with the most recent updates.
I've always loved Vortex, mainly since it was the first time I've been able to play something similar to a platform like Roblox, and the first time I've been able to create for a platform similar to Roblox. However the recent updates regarding the catalogue as well as the studio have made the platform nearly unrecognizable to me as a studio creator.
Regarding the catalogue, they could've picked one of these options:
-
Make the current cosmetics free, so they could add more paid cosmetics at a later time.
-
Allow users to choose to pay for simple bonuses (which many platforms, including catbox.moe and NameMC have done) and keep the catalogue as is.
-
Let users keep whatever items they have equipped while making the rest cheap so they can (also) add more paid cosmetics at a later time.
But no. They overpriced most things and made certain (previously free, mind you) items limiteds.
What baffles me the most about that is the fact that they didn't even waste any time making limiteds.
Yet, that wasn't what lead me to making this repository public. It was the most recent studio update. That being v0.6.0. This update includes many new features, however it broke the Character Parts module, a module I enjoyed using heavily since it would allow me to mess around with the player. It was the backbone of multiple of my projects and is incredibly helpful outside of modifying the player since it allowed me to get the CFrame of a character by grabbing the humanoid root part.
That is now broken.
Many of my project are now broken.
TL;DR: They poorly executed a update and broke almost all of my projects.
A: I may come back once in a while (if the platform is still alive), however don't count on it.
A: Yes, as long as you follow the license.
A: These are unfinished projects, you should not expect polish, nor should you expect them to work perfectly. I do not plan on updating any of these projects for the time being, however feel free to fork this repository and fix them up.
A: I most likely didn't feel the need to post the .vrtx file relating to that project, however if you need something seen in one of my projects, feel free to ask me on Discord! (@cad4)
