Proposed Solution
- Surface a recommendation to use plan mode when the AI detects a complex or ambiguous request
- Add documentation and in-app guidance explaining the plan → edit workflow
- Consider a soft prompt like "Would you like me to plan this first?" for multi-step requests
Alternatives Considered
Always forcing plan mode would slow down simple requests. The recommendation should be contextual, not mandatory.
