Fresh final-tree evidence after the role-term fix is that the word prefixes and role hashes are still independent required terms: searching for foo適者bar also matches foo生存bar x適者y, because the first token supplies the foo/bar positional prefixes while the second supplies the before/after role hashes for 適者. Both backends AND these auxiliary terms without requiring them to originate from the same mixed token, so encode the word value, direction, and neighboring script role together rather than as separate lexemes.

Why
SQLite's
unicode61tokenizer treats an unsegmented CJK character run as one token. As aresult, common two-character terms and phrases inside a longer run cannot be found with
full-text search. The same limitation applies to other writing systems that commonly omit
spaces between words.
This change keeps the existing word-oriented FTS behavior while adding a portable search
representation for unsegmented scripts that works in both SQLite and PostgreSQL-backed Cloud
projects.
Closes #1294.

No new user configuration is required. Existing word-based full-text search behavior remains
unchanged.
Implementation Details
repository/script_ngrams.pyowns NFKC normalization, script classification, bigramgeneration, and the typed query representation.
query contains multiple independently matched clauses.
simple-configurationtsvectorcolumns and GIN indexes. Searching both levels allows amatch to cross an FTS chunk boundary.
avoiding duplicate full-body processing in PostgreSQL and hosted runtimes.
d2e3f4a5b6c7adds the new columns and indexes without changing existing FTScolumns. Existing rows receive empty gram values until they are reindexed.
Deployment order is important: apply the database migration before starting the new binary.
After upgrading, local users with existing content run
bm reindex --full --search; Cloud should runthe managed fleet FTS reindex after tenant migrations complete. Old binaries remain compatible
with the additive migrated schema.
