The ANSI support section explains alignment but does not show how to color table cells. Add an executable example that colors failed status cells, show how to extend it to an entire row or column, and explain color resets and preparing object-typed NumPy/pandas data. Related to #303.
Validation: README doctest and the full suite passed on Python 3.12 with NumPy, pandas, and wcwidth installed (382 passed, one optional-library skip). Ruff check and format passed with the repository's pre-commit-pinned version, 0.15.4. The cell, row, and column transformations preserve the visible table layout.
The unpinned lint environment installs Ruff 0.16, which reports existing repository issues and existing README formatting differences. This predates the documentation change; PR #454 already proposes a Ruff update.
AI disclosure: Prepared with OpenAI Codex. The examples were executed locally and checked against the current ANSI regression coverage.
