Order-only compaction merged a weighted stage split into one entangle cycle whenever the atoms were disjoint. That merge skipped a Rydberg recheck at the entangle-cycle positions, so non-partner atoms one entanglement-grid diagonal apart (15.62 µm) could share a cycle inside the 18.75 µm isolation spacing.

Compaction now replays moves from the declared start and refuses that merge, leaving the split in place. Pairs outside isolation still merge. Static final-layout R2/R3 stays off on the order-only path. The default time objective is unchanged, and the qaoa resource-report golden still matches a verified schedule.

Order-only compaction merged disjoint entangle layers without checking
replayed positions. A weighted stage split could put non-partner atoms
15.62 µm apart in one cycle, inside the 18.75 µm isolation spacing.

Refuse that merge and keep the split. Pairs outside isolation still merge.
The default time objective is unchanged.
