Description

Save a process identity and recognize it from a later CLI invocation, even when the OS reuses its PID. Add Linux and Windows support alongside macOS and replace the unpublished prototype API with result-only capture, check, and decode calls.

Solution

Tokens preserve exact OS start values and available boot/namespace identity. Invalid input, denied inspection, and unavailable native addons return errors; uncertainty never means a process is gone. Checks are point-in-time observations, not ownership credentials or atomic termination.

CI assembles the 0.1.0 release tarball only after every platform passes, requiring all four macOS/Windows native prebuilds. No npm publish is included.

Test plan

Run npm test and npm run test:package after npm run build. Real child-process tests cover fresh readers, identity changes, title changes, and exit; package tests install with scripts disabled. All six platform jobs and the combined-package job passed on the final commit, including the Linux hidepid regression. Fresh safety review is clear.
