What

.github/dependabot.yml, nothing else. Most of the dependency chain dates from 2019-2020 and nothing signals when one of them ages or gets an advisory (lgnap#3 lists them: Vert.x 3.9 EOL, Gson 2.8.5 with CVE-2022-25647, react-scripts 3.0.1, Node 12). This adds the visibility, and only that: Dependabot opens pull requests, CI judges them on both platforms like any other, a human merges or closes.

  • Maven at / — resolves the modules from the parent pom.
  • npm at /web-ui/javascript — its own lockfile.
  • GitHub Actions at / — the workflow's actions/* pins.

Weekly. Minor and patch updates are grouped per ecosystem so the backlog of years does not arrive as fifty pull requests; majors come one at a time, since each of those (Vert.x 4, react-scripts 5) is a decision rather than a bump. Low open-pull-requests-limit for the same reason.

Nothing changes until the file is on the default branch; after that the repository's Insights → Dependency graph → Dependabot page lists the three ecosystems.

Tracked in lgnap#14, part of #3.

Most of the dependency chain dates from 2019-2020 and nothing signals
when one of them ages or gets an advisory (#3). This adds
the visibility, and only that: Dependabot opens pull requests, CI judges
them on both platforms, a human merges or closes.

Maven once at the root, npm in web-ui/javascript, GitHub Actions for
the workflows. Weekly, minor and patch grouped per ecosystem so the
backlog of years does not arrive as fifty pull requests; majors one at
a time, since each is a decision rather than a bump.

Closes #14
