rss performs the following steps:
- Loads configuration — Reads your saved feeds from
~/.rssrc - Fetches feeds — Downloads and parses XML from each feed URL
- Applies filters — Filters items by author, title, description, and date range
- Displays results — Shows matching items sorted by publication date
- ✅ Terminal-native — Stay in your workflow without context switching
- ✅ Powerful filtering — Filter by author, title, description, and date range
- ✅ Wildcard matching — Use
%for flexible pattern matching in descriptions - ✅ Multi-feed support — Aggregate items from multiple feeds
- ✅ Persistent configuration — Save your favorite feeds once, use them always
- ✅ Minimal dependencies — Fast and lightweight
- The configuration file is automatically created at
~/.rssrcwhen you runrss --init - Date filters accept any format parseable by JavaScript's
Dateconstructor - Results are sorted by publication date (oldest first)
