Warning
RiftLauncher is in active development. A beta prerelease is available on the releases page for early testing: expect rough edges and breaking changes while the team keeps rebuilding the launcher. Back up your worlds before pointing it at an existing installation, and report anything odd on the issues page or the Discord.

This fork is maintained by Zaldaryon and the Stratum team. For general support, join the Stratum Discord server.
RiftLauncher is an independent launcher for Vintage Story, built by the Stratum team. With it you can install multiple versions of Vintage Story, create separate installations with their own configs, mods and worlds, and manage backups, all in a few clicks. It currently works on Windows and Linux; MacOS support is planned but not built yet.
RiftLauncher is a fork of VS Launcher by XurxoMF, archived by its original author. Everything the launcher does today started there. Thank you to XurxoMF and everyone who translated, tested and contributed to the original project; their work carries forward into this one, and the contributors page credits them by name.
Since the fork, the project has gone through a large rebuild under the hood: a testable domain layer separate from the UI, continuous integration running on three platforms, 400+ automated tests, and typed error reporting on every user-facing flow.
RiftLauncher is unofficial and not affiliated with Anego Studios, the developers of Vintage Story.

- Make manual and automatic backups of your installations to not loose any of your worlds or configs if something breaks.
- There are a lot of languages you can choose to use on RiftLauncher.
- Automatically update RiftLauncher when you open it if there is a new update available.

Financial support goes through the Stratum team's OpenCollective, which gives the project a transparent way to handle donations and project costs. Testing, translating and reporting bugs help just as much.
