🎯 What: The vulnerability fixed
The
src/routes/api/webhooks/google-sheets/+server.tswebhook endpoint previously exposed detailed internal error messages by includingdetails: String(error)in the JSON response when an exception was thrown. This has been fixed to return a generic 'Internal Server Error' message.Exposing internal server error details (stack traces, exception messages) can reveal sensitive information about the application's internal workings, database connection strings, or system paths, making it easier for an attacker to target the system (Information Disclosure Vulnerability).
🛡️ Solution: How the fix addresses the vulnerability
The exception is still logged securely on the server using
console.error(), but the JSON response returned to the client now only contains{ error: 'Internal Server Error' }. A test case was also added to ensure this behavior is enforced and details are not leaked.PR created automatically by Jules for task 16737248088001019064 started by @Sparkier
